Scalable, Cost-Efficient Bitcoin Inscription Proof Computations with Risc0’s zkVM
Risc0 offers a zero knowledge virtual machine (zkVM) which makes zero-knowledge proofs scalable, accessible, and cost-effective.
Overview
Risc0 enables rollups to verify its batch transaction outputs with zero knowledge proofs, offering a secure, transparent and trustless mechanism for scaling L1 ecosystems. With a suite of zk tools, at the core of its stack lies the zkVM and distributed network (bonsai), which setup the basis for off-chain proof verification on virtually any compatible chain.
Partnership Goals
By partnering with Risc0, Surge would enable its rollups to be instantly zk compatible and verifiable at a fraction of the cost with a robust node architecture. This would enable a range of rollup settlement methods from directly on Bitcoin as DA to alternate DA’s whilst retaining security during off-chain compute.
Integration Details
Surge is closely collaborating with Risc0 to integrate their zkVM and distributed network into our RaaS stack for generating zero-knowledge proofs.
We are incorporating Risc0's zkVM to generate proofs for rollup state transitions and leveraging their distributed network to optimize the computation required for proof generation.
Additionally, Surge's super stack will support the RISC-V proof verification system, enabling the verification of proofs from Bitcoin zk-rollups, which will then be inscribed onto the Bitcoin blockchain.
